If you are representing yourself in a consumer debt case and cannot afford an attorney, visit the Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO)!

CLARO is a free, weekly walk-in clinic at Kings County Civil Court where consumers can meet with volunteer attorneys who will review your situation and provide advice and counsel.

CLARO is open every Thursday from 2:00–4:30 PM in Room 1312, 13th FL and from 5:00–7:00 PM in Room 504, 5th FL in the Brooklyn Civil Court located on 141 Livingston Street.

Please be sure to bring all Civil Court and debt-related papers and note, until further notice, there will be a limit on the number of individuals we can assist at CLARO. Our team can meet with approximately 30 individuals during the 2:00 PM–4:30 PM session and 20 individuals during the 5:00 PM–7:00 PM session. As a result, you may be instructed to return on another day.
